From UNESCO: Room to Read works to remove the obstacles that prevent girls from staying in school and to build their ability to make decisions and solve problems themselves. The organization recruits women mentors from the community who know the girls and their parents, and support the girls based on their particular needs. The support can include providing school supplies, uniforms, and even transportation to school. The mentors also teach the girls life skills that boost their confidence and decision-making abilities. The organization currently works in 40 secondary schools in Cambodia.
